Private investigator Lucas Douglas (Michael Weston), a character influenced partially by Shore's enjoy of The Rockford Documents, appears in three episodes of Period five. House in the beginning hires Douglas to spy on Wilson, who has ended their friendship right after Volakis' Loss of life (the friendship is subsequently rekindled). House later on
